- How to insert impact timeline URLs into email flows
As a summary, Verdn passes the following Event properties and Customer Profile properties to Klaviyo whenever impact is pledged as part of an order, or a redeemed loyalty reward:

verdnTrackerId
Connecting your Klaviyo account
1. Go to the Integrations page, and click 'Configure' on the Klaviyo card
2. Insert your API key from Klaviyo, and press 'Save'
For Verdn to talk to Klaviyo, we need you to input your Public API key. You can find this key within the settings page of your Klaviyo account. You can follow the hyperlink on the page to go there. Once you have inserted the token, press 'Save'.
If you're looking for the key manually in Klaviyo, go to Manage -> Settings -> API keys:
3. Test your connection
Once you've saved your public API key from Klaviyo, you should press the 'Test' button.
If the API key was saved correctly, the test will:
- Create a new profile in Klaviyo with the email klaviyo.integration.test@verdn.com
- This profile will have a
VERDN_KLAVIYO_INTEGRATION_TEST
event
If you do not receive this ping:
- Wait a few minutes and try again
- Re-enter the API key and press 'Save' again, then press 'test' again
- If the issue persists, contact support@verdn.com
4. Sync historical data
Once the connection has been successfully tested, you should click confirm in the 'Sync historical data' card, and then sync your historical orders by pressing 'Start sync'.
Important: This may take a few hours up to a day if you have thousands of orders, and we recommend you wait with sending out a campaign to impact customers until this sync has completed.
Creating custom segments for impact customers
Verdn's Klaviyo integration allows you to create new audience segments based on whether a customer has received impact from you — either through a products/orders, or loyalty rewards.
1. Enter the setup for dynamic segments, in Klaviyo
2. Name your new segment something memorable and distinct
We recommend a name like 'impact customers'.
3. Set a definition
We recommend segmenting your audience by whether they have had an Verdn Tracker created. This implies that they have had an order or redeemed a reward with impact, and they have an impact timeline. There are several ways to set up a suitable definition, including:
What someone has done(or not done):
Has Verdn Tracker Created
at least once
over all time
When you're happy with the definition, save by pressing 'Save Segment'.
Insert impact timeline URLs into email flows
Verdn's Klaviyo integration enables you to insert your customers' impact timelines into email flows and campaigns. A customers' impact timeline persists across multiple orders, and is a great tool to engage them about sustainability and your brand.
1. Set up a flow with a conditional split
It's important to set up a conditional split in your flows, so that customers without impact receive appropriate email templates. An example of a conditional that would separate impact customers and non-impact customers is:
Properties about someone:
verdnTrackerURL
is set
2. Insert an impact timeline URL into an email
The impact timeline URLs are quite long, so we recommend hiding them behind buttons or other elements in your email templates. To get a button to link to a recipient's impact timeline, insert the following variable in the box's URL input field in its style panel:
{{ person|lookup:'verdnTrackerURL' }}
